Also known as Accutane. I just started the journey of the next 5 months on this "Acne Eliminating" Drug that my Dermatologist Prescribed me. To be honest, I was rather shocked when he recommended it to me. I mean I know I have Acne, I just didn't think it classified as 'Severe Acne'. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try. It has been quite a journey just to get the prescription filled so far... First off, you gotta get blood tests to make sure you're not Pregnant (as the Medication can cause Severe Birth Defects). Second, you have to register at this website where you log in monthly to confirm and "Pledge" that you are not pregnant and do not plan on getting pregnant. Third, you must be on two forms of Birth Control. No problem for me... I love safe sex and had been using the Birth Control Pill as well as Condoms already. Fourth, your doctor has to log on at that same website to confirm that you are not Pregnant. And of course once all that was done, I was rejected because my Insurance Company had to pre-approve the medication before they would cover it. Hmmmm... No one really told me all that but I did my own research and learned the hard way. Now, a month after the first Prescription was given to me, and after weeks of set backs, I just swallowed my first pill. I've never really done anything this potentially harmful just for the sake of looks before, but over the last two years my Acne has gone up and down and it's truthfully come to the point where it really bothers me. We will see what happens, I have to take this shit for 5 months. I am told to avoid Alcohol :( and prolonged exposure to Sunlight :( :( The potential side effects are insane so I will be abiding by all the rules on the Pamphlet till I'm done with this shit.
